My father has this old deck of cards (pictured above) designed by Antonio Martorell. They depict the various political parties in Puerto Rico and its politicians. I was reminded of those cards when I saw this flickr group which collects images of vintage playing cards.

I've been meaning to blog about this book since last year! It's titled "El Cartel en Puerto Rico" by Teresa Tió. An excellent art book showing the history of poster design in Puerto Rico. Above are some of my favorites. Yet another reason why we need to bring back illustration into our advertising.

I came across these images on Apartment Therapy. They were taken on a visit to Marimekko's factory. The top image shows the different screens and prints being stored. The bottom two are of the press itself. It's so cool to see the whole process. To see more pictures check out always mod, they have a real detailed look into the process, from design to garment.
