I read this article years ago in the New York Times, about a woman who fell in love with a particular hue of blue and a basset hound at the same time. She spent years trying to obtain that blue paint for her walls, while her dog shed, drooled, and slowly wrecked her beautiful apartment. Read the complete article here.

I was looking through some images of Sonia Delaunay's work. So geometric with bold colors, very innovative in her time! The top three images are of her costume and scenography designs for different ballets. Some were done in collaboration with her husband, painter Robert Delaunay. Read more about Sonia Delaunay here.

I saw a lady wearing this coat yesterday on the subway and it grabbed my attention. (Please excuse the bad camera phone photo).

It reminded me of the rainbow cake I read about last summer. Check out the recipe here (photo from whisk kid blog).

It also brought to mind the rainbow pancakes I saw mentioned on swiss miss. The recipe and image are from blog I am mommy.

This is really beautiful...it's the spatuletail hummingbird, a rare bird that lives in Peru. I saw this video on the BBC News website, it shows its mating habit. This particular hummingbird does a dance to entice the female, you have to see this!
